Event Oversight OWA Helper — Privacy Policy
The Event Oversight OWA Helper browser extension does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, browsing activity, or mailbox contents. It does not have access to, request, or handle OWA (Outlook Web App) usernames, passwords, cookies, or authentication tokens of any kind.
When a user of the Event Oversight app (events.wv-1.org) chooses to compose an email, the extension opens a new browser tab to the user’s own already-authenticated OWA session and fills in the subject and body fields directly in that page, exactly as if the user had typed them. No data from that page, or about the user, is read, recorded, or sent anywhere — the extension only writes into the compose form.
The extension requests the following permissions, used only as described:
- Host access to the organization’s OWA mailbox domain — to run the script that fills in the subject/body fields of a compose window the user opened.
- Host access to events.wv-1.org — to receive the compose request (subject, body, recipients, attachments) from the Event Oversight app when the user clicks “Compose with OWA Helper.”
- tabs — to open the OWA compose tab and to know when it has finished loading before filling it in.
This extension is distributed privately (unlisted) for use by Event Oversight app users only. Questions can be directed to the circuit’s Event Oversight administrators.
