Terms of Use

Who Messages Is For

Messages in Event Oversight is for the brothers and sisters who serve at circuit assemblies and conventions, and the elders and overseers who coordinate them. It is for the volunteer work: scheduling, assignments, and the communication that goes with them.

No Objectionable Content, No Abusive Users

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive users. Do not post anything that is abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or that otherwise doesn't belong among brothers and sisters. Do not impersonate anyone, send spam, or share other people's private information.

Anyone who does may have messages removed, be suspended from Messages, or lose their account.

How to Report a Message or a Person

  • Report a message: press and hold a message from someone else (or open its menu on the website) and choose Report. A copy is kept with your report so it can be reviewed even if the sender deletes it.
  • Block a person: open their name or message menu and choose Block. You won't see their messages and they can't start a one-to-one conversation with you. You can unblock them in Messages under Settings, then Blocked People (in the app, under Personal).
  • Reach a person: write to [email protected].

Reports go to the moderators of that conversation (department leaders and Event Oversight). We review them within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these terms, and take action on the account.

Your Messages

Messages and files you send are stored on our own servers and are visible to the members of that conversation and to its moderators. See the Privacy Policy for how long they are kept and how to delete your account.

Agreement

You agree to these terms once, before you first use chat. We may update them; when they change in a way that matters, we will ask you to agree again.
